Ascendo + ServiceNow

The Ascendo ServiceNow integration puts AI assistance inside the incident your agents already have open: a suggested resolution, the incidents that resemble this one, and a drafted update, all grounded in your own resolved work. ServiceNow stays the system of record, and nothing about your ITSM process has to change.

  • ServiceNow stays the system of record
  • Scoped access, not a copy of your instance
  • Results written back to the incident
  • Personal and health data screened at intake

How does an AI integration with ServiceNow work?

An AI integration with ServiceNow connects to the instance as a scoped data source, indexes closed incidents, resolution notes and knowledge articles, and returns suggested resolutions, similar incidents and drafted updates into the open incident. ServiceNow keeps ownership of the record and its lifecycle, and personal data is screened before any AI model processes it.

For agents

Assistance inside the incident, not in a second console

An AI layer that arrives as a separate console gets used while the pilot team is watching and then quietly abandoned. Ascendo works against the incident record itself, so there is no new tool to open and nothing to copy between systems.

Every suggestion names the closed incidents and documents it was drawn from, and a drafted update waits for the agent to accept, edit or discard it before anything reaches a customer.

An AI Resolve panel against incident INC0042318 showing a suggested resolution, the closed incidents and manual section it was drawn from, and a drafted customer update marked as awaiting approval.
Every suggestion names the closed incidents behind it, and the draft waits for a person before anything reaches a customer.

For administrators

What leaves your instance, and what comes back

Ascendo reads the incidents and attached knowledge inside the scope you grant, and nothing beyond it. Suggested resolutions and drafted updates are written back into the record, so the incident stays a complete account of what happened.

The incident lifecycle never leaves ServiceNow, and Ascendo does not keep a second copy of the record. Your reporting keeps running off ServiceNow exactly as it does today.

Two panels either side of an arrow listing exactly what leaves ServiceNow and what returns to it, with incident lifecycle and a second copy of the record both marked as things that never move.
Read as a pair, these lists answer the ownership question: the record’s lifecycle never leaves ServiceNow.

How it connects

Connect, screen, comprehend, write back

ServiceNow is added as a data source, scoped to the incidents and knowledge the agents need. Content passes the PII Redaction agent on the way in, on rules you configure, before it reaches any reasoning or storage layer. The privacy filter can run on your own server.

Incidents, resolution notes and knowledge articles are then indexed alongside your manuals, Confluence, Jira and Slack, so your incident history becomes one source among several rather than the only one.

Four-stage diagram of the connection: ServiceNow added as a scoped source, content redacted at intake, incidents indexed alongside manuals and Confluence, and results written back to the record.
The rest of the instance is deliberately outside the scope, and redaction happens before anything is indexed.

For the change board

Your ITSM process stays as it is

Incidents are still created, assigned, escalated and reported the way they are today, and SLAs run unchanged. Ascendo adds two steps in the middle: a suggestion against the record, and the agent deciding what to do with it.

That is usually what makes the integration approvable. The change can be written down the way a change board asks for it, row by row.

Four stages showing creation, assignment, queue and SLA unchanged, suggestions added against the record, the agent accepting, editing or discarding, and the result written back to the incident.
Only the middle two stages are new. The first and last are the workflow the team already runs.
Healthcare

Clinical engineering on ServiceNow

Health systems that run clinical engineering and HTM work on ServiceNow get the same pattern. Ascendo reads the work-order, preventive maintenance and asset data already in ServiceNow and pushes recommendations back into the existing workflow, with no rip-and-replace of the system of record. Patient and personal health information is screened at intake before any AI model sees it.

Customer story

Teradata runs Ascendo with ServiceNow

Teradata integrated Ascendo with its ServiceNow platform to speed up knowledge retrieval and automate repetitive support work. The case study covers what changed for first contact resolution and resolution times.

Integrating Ascendo AI into our ServiceNow workflow has allowed our team to quickly diagnose complex cases and understand customer sentiment in real time. The platform's 'Solve' feature provides clear resolution steps that have significantly improved our team's efficiency and response times.
