AI Sales Specialist
Field Service & Critical Infrastructure
This role is fully remote within the United States. By applying, you will have an opportunity to share your preferred working location and time zone.
About the job
Your customer’s best expert cannot be everywhere. Their judgment can. That is what you sell.
As an AI Sales Specialist at Ascendo AI, you work with the teams that cannot afford downtime—the hospitals, utilities, telecom operators, and industrial manufacturers whose technicians keep critical infrastructure running. Your buyers are service and support leaders measured on escalations, parts availability, and first-visit resolution, and your job is to meet them in that reality rather than in a slide deck. The thirty-year veteran who knows how to flush the system before replacing the part is retiring, and every one of these leaders knows it. You show them how that judgment gets captured and scaled to every technician on every shift, with the human always in command. That translates to exponential service capacity, efficiency, productivity, and safety for their teams.
This is platform selling with unusually short proof. Rather than a discovery deck and a six-month pilot, you build the customer’s company brain on their own data—the manuals and technician notes already sitting in ServiceNow, SAP, Salesforce/ServiceMax, or their CMMS—and have it answering their questions in roughly forty minutes, with no data cleanup. From there the conversation changes shape: you are no longer selling software features, you are helping a service leader decide which digital coworkers to put to work first, whether that is triage, root cause, parts prediction, or escalation routing, and then expanding that agent workforce across product lines, regions, and channels. Land the brain, prove it on their worst recurring failure, then grow the workforce.
You will own a named-account territory of roughly 25 to 40 enterprise accounts in an assigned industry vertical or region, carrying an individual annual quota of $1.3M ARR with a base and variable split of 40/60 at plan.
You will work directly with founders, product, and forward deployed engineers, so what you learn in the field shapes what ships next.
Minimum qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience in an enterprise software, SaaS, or AI sales role.
- Experience selling into service, support, or field operations organizations, or experience identifying AI use cases that resolve operational customer challenges.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience carrying and exceeding quota in a complex, multi-stakeholder enterprise sales cycle.
- Experience selling a platform rather than a point solution, including landing an initial use case and expanding across functions and geographies.
- Experience selling alongside ecosystem partners such as SAP, ServiceNow, or Salesforce/ServiceMax, including co-sell motions and marketplace listings.
- Experience in regulated or asset-heavy industries (medical devices, energy and utilities, telecom, oil and gas, defense, data centers).
- Experience building executive-level business cases grounded in operational metrics such as first-time fix rate, escalation cost, truck rolls, and SLA attainment.
- Experience developing new territories and accounts while driving adoption, expansion, and long-term customer success.
Responsibilities
- Build trusted advisor relationships with service, support, and operations executives, managing complex sales cycles and shaping the long-term strategic direction of accounts.
- Run the platform motion end to end: stand up the customer’s company brain on their existing systems of record early in the cycle, prove value on a specific recurring failure, then expand the deployed agent workforce across teams, product lines, and geographies.
- Deliver against quota and forecast your territory accurately, reporting pipeline health and risk with clarity.
- Translate customer pain—escalation volume, repeat truck rolls, no-fault-found returns, retiring expertise—into quantified business cases and agent deployment plans.
- Partner with Forward Deployed Engineering, product, marketing, and customer success to run proofs of value, close agreements, and drive adoption after signature.
- Develop and execute territory and account plans, including co-sell motions with SAP, ServiceNow, and Salesforce/ServiceMax partners.
- Manage multiple accounts simultaneously, understanding each customer’s install base, integration landscape, compliance requirements, and competitive alternatives.
- Bring field insight back into the roadmap through ride-alongs, war rooms, and direct technician feedback.
